Phyllis E. Huckabone

Phyllis E. Huckabone, 80, of 333 Old Mill Rd., Kane, died Friday morning, Oct. 4, 2013 at The Lutheran Home at Kane, where she recently resided.
Born June 29, 1933 in Smethport, she was the daughter of Eugene and Joan Denning Sailor. On July 20, 1957 in Kane, she married Paul W. Huckabone, who survives.
Phyllis was a homemaker who also did babysitting for families in the area. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kane, where she belonged to the Armstrong Sunday School class and the Mary Circle. She also attended the Kane Free Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Paula (Don) Thorwart of Ridgway, Nancy (Allen) Eckstrom of Ludlow and Karen (Dave) Hickey of Kane; a son, James (Holly) Huckabone of Mt. Jewett; and a brother, Harry (Joann) Whittemore of Ludlow. Fourteen grandchildren also survive: John Knapp, Joshua Heck, Michael, Andrew and Dylan Eckstrom, Adam Hickey, Daria, Maya and Alec Huckabone, Connor and Jenny Crowley and William, Luke and Emily Lippincott.  Three great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Lippincott in 2007.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane on Monday from 6-8 p.m., and may attend a service there at 1 p.m. on Tuesday with the rev. Milton L. Jones, pastor of the Kane Free Methodist Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Lutheran Home at Kane, 100 High Point Dr., Kane, PA 16735, or to the ICU Dept. of the Kane Community Hospital, 4372 Route 6, also in Kane.
