Kane Borough Council changes procedures

October 14, 2013

Photo by Amy Geer – Kane Mayor Doug Caldwell, left, is shown swearing in new Kane Borough Council members Tom Kase, center, and Del Cleer, right. Kase and Cleer were appointed members of Kane Borough Council last month after the resignations of Councilmen Harold Hallberg and Bill Tunall in August.

Due to the recent injuries to employees of the Kane Borough Streets Department, members of the Kane Borough Council made it easier for the department chairs to hire temporary or part-time employees in the event of an emergency. With the leaf pick-up season upon us, the chairman of the borough’s public works committee may hire part-time employees in conjunction with the borough office manager, Lori Feldbauer. Full-time employees would still have to be hired by the borough council.
