Wolves advance to D9 finals with win over Brookville

November 9, 2013

Photo by Amy Geer – Kane's John English makes his way through the mud for a nice gain during Friday's district semifinal with Brookville. English had a big night for the Wolves to help propel them to a 26-12 win over the Raiders. Kane will face Karns City next weekend in a rematch of last year's District 9 AA final.

The Kane Wolves improved to 11-0 but more importantly earned a spot in next weekend’s District 9 AA finals with a hard fought 26-12 win over Brookville on Friday. Playing on a sloppy field at Kane’s Paul R Miller Stadium, the Wolves put together a workman like effort to defeat the Raiders, who entered the game with a 6-4 record.
The Wolves’ defense started out hot, forcing the Raiders to punt after three plays, including a tackle for a loss on second down by Evan DeLong on District 9’s second leading rusher Zach Vroman.
