Jean Foote Swanson

Jean Foote Swanson, 98, formerly of 232 Dawson St., died Friday Nov. 8, 2013 at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Jan. 20, 1915 in Syracuse, N.Y., she was a daughter of Julius and Mabelle Foote Eller. On May 27, 1940 in Syracuse, N.Y., she married Wallace Eugene (Gene) Swanson who died Dec. 9, 2009.
Mrs. Swanson graduated from high school in Syracuse and Syracuse University. She was a dietitian for the Kane Community Hospital for 37 years and had been a consultant for the former Ridgway Hospital, retiring in 1976.
Mrs. Swanson was a member of the American Dietetic Association of Pennsylvania, the Northwest Pennsylvania Dietetic Association and Phi Mu College Sorority.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet Chrisman, St Petersburg, Fla.; a son, Paul (Becky) Swanson, Jamestown, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Kevin (Jennice) Chrisman, Levittown, Jeffrey (Nicole) Swanson, Syracuse, N.Y., Michael (Sandy) Swanson, Rochester, N.Y., and Sarah (Matt) Jones, Syracuse, N.Y.; three great-grandchildren, Brianna and Tyler Swanson, and Jack Henry Jones. 
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Swanson was preceded in death by three brothers, and a sister-in-law, Bernice Swanson.
Friends may call Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Tabor Lutheran Church, 200 Dawson St. Kane where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Pflieger, Chaplin of the Lutheran Home at Kane officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Tabor Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Ronald McDonald II funeral Home, Inc. 103 South Fraley St., Kane.
