Proposed Mt. Jewett budget carries tax rate hike

MT. JEWETT – The tentative 2014 budget for Mt. Jewett carries a half-mill increase in the property tax rate.
The Mt. Jewett Borough Council voted 6-0 Monday to endorse a proposed spending plan that sets the tax rate of 8.25 mills. This means taxpayers will pay $8.25 for every $1,000 in assessed property valuation.
