Wolves wrestlers open season with Hickory crown

Photo by Amy Geer – The Kane Wolves wrestling team defended their team title at this past weekend's 18 team Hickory Tournament in Hermitage.

The Kane Wolves wrestling team opened their season on Friday afternoon in Hermitage, and when the weekend was over, they came away as champions of the Hickory Tournament for the second straight year. Coach Mike Swartwood’s Wolves finished with 178.5 points, narrowly outdistancing D9 rival Smethport, who had 164.5 points. Rounding out the top five of the 18 team field were Jamestown, Ridgway and Maplewood.
