KCH’s new testing system can reduce recurrent heart attacks and strokes

December 22, 2013

On Oct. 23, Kane Community Hospital (KCH) began to offer new platelet aggregate testing through Accumetrics VerifyNow System. The VerifyNow System provides physicians with valuable information to more effectively determine medication options to prevent recurrent cardiovascular or cerebrovascular events, such as heart attack or stroke. Platelet aggregate testing can reduce a patient’s risk for a recurrent life-altering event because certain medications have been found not to work for every patient.
“This investment is consistent with Kane Community Hospital’s mission to provide area patients with top-quality care and supports the organization’s focus on positive patient outcomes and reducing hospital readmissions,” said Nancy, Hagg, KCH Laboratory manager.
