1949 Kane Wolves’ State Championship Trophy to be Dedicated Friday

January 22, 2014

Photo by Amy Geer – Pictured is the Pennsylvania 1949 Class B State Championship trophy that was presented to the Kane Wolves Boys Basketball team after defeating Ashley High School, 45-44. The trophy will be re-dedicated and placed in a new display case outside of the Wolves' Den on Friday night just prior to the boys' varsity basketball game with Sheffield. The ceremony is expected to begin at approximately 7 p.m.

In the history of Kane High School, there have been numerous state champions in individual sporting events. Kane High has produced a state champion wrestler and champions too numerous to count in track and field, but only once in their history has Kane High School won a state championship in a team sport.
