Federal agency OKs 'injection well' near James City

File photo by Ted Lutz – The federal Environmental Protection Agency has approved an application from Seneca Resources to disposal of drilling fluids in a proposed "injection well" off the Lamont Road in Highland Township. This is part of the standing-room-only crowd that attended the EPA public hearing on the application. The hearing 13 months ago was held at the Highland Township Fire Hall in James City.

JAMES CITY – The federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has approved a permit for a controversial underground "injection well" near James City.
The permit has been issued to Seneca Resources-- the exploration and production wing of National Fuel Gas of Williamsville near Buffalo.
