Housing female inmates creates revenue for county

SMETHPORT – McKean County is finding that crime does pay.
The county last year received nearly $71,000 for housing female inmates from Potter and Cameron counties. The county this year already has collected more than $21,000 from the two counties for providing jail space for their female inmates.
