April 9, 2014

Teammate Emily Truden looks over the situation from her position in the infield. Huckabone threw a runner out at home during the game, but the Lady Wolverines ended up with the 19-17 win. Kane is back in action this afternoon, when they host perennial powerhouse Smethport.

The Kane softball team hosted Sheffield on Wednesday afternoon in the Lady Wolves first home game of the 2014 season. Coach Judy Kessler’s young squad battled for three hours but came up a little short in the 19-17 loss.
The Lady Wolves jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after one inning. After a walk by leadoff batter Daria Huckabone and a shot by Emily Truden that the Sheffield centerfielder misplayed, senior Cheyenne Wheatley delivered with a line drive double in the gap to get the home team on the scoreboard.
