June E. Nichols

June E. Nichols, 92, formerly of DeYoung, died early Friday morning, April 11, 2014 at The Lutheran Home at Kane, where she resided for the past four years.
Born June 3, 1921 in Kane, she was the daughter of Raymond and Alma Anderson Sloan. On May 30, 1938 in Warren, she married William R. Nichols, who died in 1998.
Along with her husband, she owned and operated the Wagon Wheel Drive-in in DeYoung for many years.
Mrs. Nichols was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kane, where she belonged to the King's Daughters, the Missionary Society, and was active in Sunday School. She had been a member of Mountain Grange #1307 in Kane and the Kane Garden Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra (Dick) Armstrong and Darlene (Dennis) Olson, both of Kane; a son, Kenneth (Cindy) Nichols of Granger, Ind.; six grandchildren, Lori Armstrong, Tim and Matt Olson, and Keith, Eric and Darren Nichols, plus two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents, are a sister, Evelyn "Susie" Lantz; a son in infancy, and twin granddaughters in infancy.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., at which time a service will be held there with the rev. Bruce Kumher, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Kane.
