Ed Moran: A true Kane track and field hero

April 24, 2014

Photo by Amy Geer – Relatives of the late great Kane track star Ed Moran were on hand this week when a display was dedicated to honor his memory.

(Editor’s note: Kane Girls’ Track and Field Coach Jim Sirianni recently created a display honoring Kane track great Ed Moran. The plaque, along with a framed picture and this article, will be on display outside of the Kane High School gymnasium.)

Ed Moran is the greatest male track athlete in the history of Kane Area High School. He graduated with the Kane High School Class of 1955. At the high school state championship meet, Ed placed second in the mile in 1953, placed third in the mile in 1954 and took fifth in the 880-yard run in his senior year of 1955.
