Smelko finishes fifth overall in Hall of Fame Marathon

Adam Smelko, of Kane, is pictured during Sunday's inaugural Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon in Canton, Ohio. Smelko finished fifth overall in a time of 2:48.46, a personal best by more than 10 minutes. The time qualifies the KAHS teacher for next year's Boston Marathon.

Kane High School Physical Education teacher Adam Smelko finished fifth overall in Sunday’s Pro Football Hall of Fame Marathon in Canton, Ohio. Smelko crossed the finish line in 2:48.46 which is more than 10 minutes better than his previous best for a marathon.
