Plaque honors Sicher, Gezik for plane crash rescue

Photo by Ted Lutz – These three brave men risked their lives on Christmas Eve 1968 to rescue a 17-year-old girl from the fuel-soaked wreckage of a commercial airplane near the Kinzua Bridge.

LAFAYETTE TWP. – Kristin King was aboard an Allegheny Airlines plane that crashed while attempting to land at the Bradford Regional Airport on a snowy Christmas Eve in 1968.
Just 17 years old, King was returning from Detroit to her home near Harrisburg in time for Christmas Day.
