May 23, 2014

Photo by Ted Lutz – Planting flowers at graves of family members is a Memorial Day tradition for Kathy Cappello Elinski, a Kane native who resides in Wilcox. She is decorating the graves of her brother, Daniel, her father, John and her mother, Josephine at St. Callistus Cemetery off Route 66 south of Kane. Daniel was killed while serving in Vietnam in 1967. Her father died in 2001 and her mother died in 2008.

Memorial Day parades and programs are slated Monday in the Kane area.
Parades will be held in Kane and Mt. Jewett along with Memorial Day programs. A Memorial Day service will be held in Ludlow.
