Slater to run cross country in Australia this summer

Kiersten Slater, pictured here, has been invited to participate in the Down Under Sports Cross Country Tournament on the Gold Coast of Australia this summer. The Smethport Area High School student, who is finishing up her sophomore year, will be one of 300 scholastic runners from across the United States to participate in the event.

Kiersten Slater, a sophomore at Smethport Senior High School has been invited by Down Under Sports to run in an international cross country competition this summer in Australia. Slater, the daughter of Misty Sanders of Lantz Corners and Bruce Slater of Mt. Jewett, will be one of about 300 runners from across the United States to participate in the program this July.
