Doris L. Mishic, 88, formerly of Lamont and the New Thomson House, Kane, died Friday afternoon, June 20, 2014 at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Sept. 10, 1925 in Lamont, she was the daughter of Axel L. and Augusta Asp Carlson. On Nov. 15, 1945, she married Matthew Mishic, who died in 2001.
A homemaker, Doris belonged to the Emmanuel Mission Church in Kane, and often held bible studies in her apartment.
Surviving are a daughter, Christine Rhodes of Brookville; two sons, Tim Mishic of Kane and Michael Mishic of Midland, Mich.; six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter in infancy, a son, Matthew Edward "Eddie" Mishic; sisters Eva Novosel, Ruth Carlson and Minnie Ohlson; and a brother, Robert Carlson.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24 at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane, where a service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25 with the rev. Nancy Page officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Kane.
