Lawrence Dan Andersen, 80, of Chesterton, Ind., died Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Franciscan St. Anthony Health.
He was born Aug. 20, 1933 in Kane, son of the late Thorkild and Ruth Fridley Andersen.
On May 21, 1966, he married Mary Johnson Andersen who survives in Chesterton.
Lawrence belonged to the American Society of Civil Engineers and was licensed in several states. He was also member of the Professional Engineers and an endowment member of the NRA. He was an Army veteran, serving his country proudly. He was an avid outdoorsman.
In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his children, Lance (Tonya) Andersen of Boxborough, Mass., Leslie (David) Nickerson of Bristol, N.H., Lori (David) Clarke of Cypress, Texas, Leland (Amy) Andersen of Chesterton, as well as his grandchildren Ashley, Courtney, Brittany, Tyler, Brandon, Amber and Madelyn. His sister, Christine (Carmen) Cannella of Johnsonburg, also survives.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David, on July 4, 2010.
