Douglas Jon Ewing

Douglas Jon Ewing, 52, of Palmyra, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, May 30, 2014.
He was born Friday, Feb. 2, 1962 in Kane, to the late Ronald Paul and Jean Marie (Magnuson) Ewing. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Jan (Parana) Ewing.
He graduated from Kane Area High School in 1980 and recently received his certification as a professional massage therapist from Harrisburg Area Community College. Doug worked as a truck driver for 15 years before staying at home to raise and homeschool his two daughters. He enjoyed softball, golf, bowling and watching sports. He coached soccer and basketball for several years at New Covenant Christian School.
Doug is survived by his two loving daughters, Lydia and Naomi Ewing, at home; four brothers, Paul, Norm, Rich, and Scot Ewing; two sisters, Cheri Peterson and Sandra Duffee; and many nieces and nephews. Doug was predeceased by a brother, Roger Ewing.
A memorial service for Douglas Jon Ewing will be held on Saturday, July 19 at 10 a.m. at American Legion Post 0574, 61 East Main St., Mt. Jewett, PA 16740. Rothermel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 25 West Pine St., Palmyra has been entrusted with the arrangements.
