Kane to get new computer system, usage policy

July 14, 2014

John Gentilman

The members of Kane Borough Council heard a report from Steve Zwerin, a member of the Borough’s Information Technology Committee regarding the need to purchase a new computer system within the next few months.
Council members learned during Police Chief Heath Boyer’s staff report that the police department’s computers had crashed during the past month. Zwerin told those in attendance that the computers were transported to a company in Warren due to the sensitive nature of the files, which appear to be intact. Zwerin said the old computers were not powerful enough for the Visual Alert software that is used by the department.
