Carlton Lawrence Olson

Carlton Lawrence Olson, 85, a resident of Rouse Warren County Home and formerly of Ludlow, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 26, 1929 in Kane, son of the late Lawrence “Tige”and Evelyn Nelson Olson. At the age of 16, Carlton joined the Merchant Marines as a Able Seaman, serving in Foreign waters. Carlton was a heavy equipment operator with International Union of Operating Engineers Local Union 66.
He was a member of Moriah Lutheran Church, Ludlow. He was a 32 degree mason with Kane Lodge #566, F & A.M. and a National Rifle Association member.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, V. Lorraine Christenson Olson whom he married Oct. 29, 1949 in Kane.
He is also survived by two sons, Jeffrey Olson of Ludlow, and Steve Olson and wife, Lisa of Grant, Minn.; two daughters, Carla Morse of Youngsville, and Lauren O. Ahlgren and husband, Rick of Irvine; one aunt, Irene Jensen of Ashville, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, Joe and Rian Chiaravalloti, Nikole Young, Amanda Roberts, Mark Isenhour, Brad DiPenti, Luke Olson, Kristin Cook, Travis Ahlgren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Olson; one daughter, Cheri Isenhour; and one grandson, Michael Isenhour.
A private memorial service for Carlton Lawrence Olson will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Gibbs Hill Cemetery, Ludlow, PA.
