Old-timers baseball game

July 27, 2014

Kane's 150th Celebration kicked off yesterday with the playing of an Old-timers baseball game at Glenwood Park's Pat Santilli Field. The game, played under the rules of 1864, was contested by teams of former Kane Independents, Kane Legion and Kane High School baseball players. Harry Whittemore, shown getting ready to deliver a pitch here during the game, was one of the former local all-stars to take part in the game. Hundreds of fans attended the nail-biter, which ended up 9-8.
