3 St. Marys hunters drawn for elk licenses

BENEZETTE – Of the 108 elk licenses awarded by the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) during their annual elk license drawing, three–all for antlerless elk–went to residents of St. Marys. This year's drawing was held at 2 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in conjunction with the Pa. Great Outdoors Elk Expo at the Elk Country Visitor Center in Benezette. It was the first time since 2008 that the elk license drawing has been held during the Elk Expo.
Of the 108 elk licenses issued for this year's hunt, which will be held from Nov. 3-8, 27 were for antlered elk and 81 were for antlerless elk. The three lucky hunters from St. Marys were were selected were Jason Pistner, Kenneth Rieder, and Joseph Rupprecht.
