Elk Expo draws visitors of all ages to Benezette

BENEZETTE – It was a beautiful weekend in Benezette for the 2014 Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Elk Expo, which was held at the Elk Country Visitor Center on Saturday and Sunday.
"We really couldn't have asked for better weather today," Elk Country Visitor Center Operations Manager Carla Wehler said on Saturday afternoon. "It wasn't too hot, wasn't too cold, and there was no rain. It was just a beautiful day and was a little bit overcast. We're pretty excited."
While the Elk Expo was first held back in 2001, last year was the first time that it was held at the visitor center. That event drew a crowd of over 11,000 people. Wehler indicated that even more people may have attended this year's event.
