Classes to resume Tuesday with a shorter school day

August 24, 2014

Dr. Maryann Anderson, who has served as the superintendent of the Kane Area School District for five years, is beginning her final school year as an administrator. She plans to retire Jan. 6, ending a 37-year career in education.

With the “extended” school day in Kane scrapped, students will spend less time in school when classes resume Tuesday.
Classes for children in kindergarten through second grade now will begin at 8:10 a.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m.
For students in grades 3 through 8, classes now will begin at 8:10 a.m. and conclude at 2:50 p.m.
High school students in grades 9-12 will begin classes at 8:05 a.m. and end the school day at 2:45 p.m.
