Joann Meckley

Joann Meckley, 87, formerly of 121 Oak Street, Kane, died Thursday morning, Aug. 28, 2014 at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born Aug. 31, 1926 in Wetmore, near Kane, she was the daughter of Stephen H. and Ruby F. Winkler Jerman. On Aug. 26, 1950 in Kane, she married D. Neal Meckley, who survives.
A homemaker and mother, Joann was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Lynn (Tony) Avenali of Kane and a son, Richard Meckley of Kane; a granddaughter, Jennifer Meckley and her beloved cat, Lady.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Neal Jerman; and a sister, Jean Johnston.
Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane on Saturday from 10 until 11 a.m., at which time a service will be held there with the Rev. David Pflieger, Chaplain of The Lutheran Home at Kane, officiating.  Interment will follow in Gibbs Hill Cemetery, Ludlow.
