SMETHPORT – The two most serious charges have been dismissed in a court case involving a Kane woman whose vehicle struck and heavily damaged a street lighting-control device at Fraley and Field streets in uptown Kane.
Brenda Bobich, 46, of 7 Laurel Ave., Kane, accepted the plea agreement last month in McKean County Court, records show.
Kane Borough Police Officer Bill Nichols charged Bobich with careless driving, failure to report a traffic accident to police and failure to obey a traffic control device. The alleged incident took place Nov. 30.
Following a hearing in February, Kane District Court Judge Dave Engman found Bobich guilty in what he termed “a clear-cut case.” She was assessed $488.50 in fines and court costs, according to court records. Bobich represented herself at the hearing.
