Two Elk County residents died Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash on Toby Road in Fox Township.
According to the Ridgway-based State Police, 22-year-old Austin Jay Miller of Johnsonburg and 21-year-old Dallan Richard Pangallo of Kersey died Wednesday night when their vehicle struck an oncoming vehicle head-on.
The crash occurred at 4:50 p.m. as Miller was driving a 2000 Dodge Neon east on Toby Road. Police say Miller lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a left curve in the roadway. His car traveled into the westbound lane of the roadway into the path of a 2008 GMC Acadia being driven by 43-year-old Andrew Jerome Gahr of St. Marys.
Police report Gahr swerved to his right in an attempt to avoid impact. The front right portion of Miller's vehicle struck the front portion of Gahr's SUV.
Miller and Pangallo were both ejected from the vehicle upon impact.
Pangallo was pronounced dead at the scene by Muccio. Miller was pronounced dead at Penn Highlands Elk.
