Florence E. Stiles, 81, of 13 Blaisdell Ave., passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2011 at her residence.
Born Sept. 12, 1929, in Kane, she was a daughter of the late John and Florence (Bair) Rutledge.
On June 26, 1948 in East Kane, she married John Stiles who survives.
Mrs. Stiles was a 1948 graduate of Kane High School. She had worked as a waitress at the Arcade Restaurant in Kane, and at numerous restaurants in Bradford. She later was employed at Zippo Manufacturing.
She was an avid bowler and bowled in the Bradford City Leagues, volunteered for Bradford Little League and ran the concession stand. She was active in the Bradford Women's Horseshoe League. She had attended First United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Paul R. (Carol) Stiles of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Joyce (Harry) Lingaton of Bradford and Deloras (the Late James) Timpano of Kane; one brother, John Rutledge of Colvis, Calif.; one grandchild, Amber (John) McKindley; and two great-grandchildren, Callie McKindley and Camryn McKindley. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Alice Stiles and Helen Smith; and one brother Paul Rutledge.
Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, from 2 to 5 p.m. in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., South Ave. where funeral and committal services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 25 with Rev. Max Miller, Pastor of the Bradford Area Parish officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
