She enjoyed reading, puzzle books, “watching the birds,” and was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She also babysat for two grandsons, Adam and Zach, for many years.
Freda is survived by two daughters, Alice Carlson of Marienville, and Jennie Carlson and companion Jim of Ludlow; five sons, Gary Carlson of Ludlow, Jan Carlson, Tiona, Lynn Carlson and wife Robin, Florida, Fred Carlson and wife Marcy, of Clarendon, and Phillip Carlson and wife Karen, of Mt. Jewett; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. God bless our sister Jennie for the care she provided to our mother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Valentine Carlson; four sons, Vernon Carlson, Carl Carlson, Thomas Carlson, and Charles Carlson; and one brother, Leroy Brush.
Rev. Martin Reynolds, pastor, Clarendon United Methodist Church will officiate at the 6 p.m. funeral service being held Thursday, April 21, 2011, at the Borden-Lloyd Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday immediately before the service.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Sheffield Food Pantry.
This one of Freda’s favorite sayings: Roses love sunshine, pretty violets love the dew, angels in heaven know I love all of you.
