Margaret Joan Johnson, 83, formerly of Lincoln Avenue in Ludlow, died early Tuesday morning, May 31, 2011, at The Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born June 8, 1927 in Frewsburg, N.Y., she was the daughter of Bertil L. and Gladys A. Davidson Carlson. On April 29, 1948 in Maryland, she married Clarence S. "Bud" Johnson, who died in 2000.
She was a member of Moriah Lutheran Church in Ludlow. She was a homemaker and later a personal caregiver.
Surviving are four sons, Stewart Johnson of Kane, Neil Johnson, Rodney Johnson and Roger Johnson, all of Ludlow; four daughters, Mary Carol Rich of Home, Jackie Dangelo and Barbara Haight, both of Kane, and Julianne Horton of Kossuth; her twin sister, Jean Russell, of Kane; plus 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a daughter Rebecca Johnson; a son, Thomas Johnson; a grandson, Justin Johnson; a great-grandson, Kyle Johnson; and a sister, Anne Carlson.
Friends may call today (Wednesday) at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane from 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a service at the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Thursday with the rev. Donald Costlow, pastor of the Sheffield-Ludlow Lutheran Parish, officiating.
Interment will follow in Gibbs Hill Cemetery, Ludlow.
