The Mountain Laurel Federal Credit Union has completed its move to its new office at 211 S. Fraley St. at West Hemlock Avenue in Kane.
The new site formerly housed Kane Monuments, which closed its local operations in 2008.
The Credit Union has operated in Kane since 2005 in space it rented at 22 Greeves St. near Summit Drive.
Patty Shaffer, the manager of the Kane office of the Mountain Laurel Credit Union, said earlier this year that the local office needed more space.
“Our business has increased,” she told the Kane Planning Board in citing the main reason for the move to a larger facility with off-street parking.
Both the Planning Board and the Zoning Appeals Hearing Board approved the move of the Credit Union to its new site.
According to Shaffer, the Kane office of the Credit Union serves more than 800 customers. She said the local office has continued to show growth over the last six years.
