Kenneth T. Hannold, 84, of 188 School St., passed away at his home on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011.
Born Feb. 6, 1927, in Kane, he was a son of Roland and Hattie Gadley Hannold. On June 8, 1956, in Ludlow, he married Mary Jo Beckwith who survives.
Mr. Hannold worked as a painter and paperhanger with his partner, Beanie Gustafson. He also had worked for Bentz Furniture and later for Holgate from which he retired.
He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and belonged to the American Legion Post # 250 and the V.F. W. Lodge #1132.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Mary Jo Hannold, are three children, Kenneth (Janice) Hannold of Colleyville, Texas, Amy (Bob) Peterson of Kane and Joseph (Lori Gordon) Hannold of Kane; five grandchildren, Trace Gordon and Tara Gordon of Kane, Kenneth (Ruth Ann) Peterson of Burlington, Vt., Katie (Adam) Dase of Ludlow and Kathleen Hannold of Richmond, Va; two great-granddaughters, Lily Dase and Addie Dase; a brother, Richard Hannold of Gainesville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by six brothers, Edwin, Eugene, Howard, Raymond, Roland and Walter Hannold; and a sister, Ruth Novosel.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. at the Cummings Funeral Home, Inc. where funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Lynch, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Gibbs Hill Cemetery.
