The Kane Lady Wolves came out a little flat and the DuBois Central Catholic Lady Cardinals kept fighting before Kane hit some crucial free throws at the end of the game to seal the win, 38-34.
Kane fought out early on that the Lady Cardinals were here for a game. The Lady Wolves seemed to have the game under control but the scrappy Lady Cardinals kept inching their way and only trailed 25-23 after three quarters. They were able to limit Kane to only two field goals and one free throw in the third period.
The fourth quarter was a matter of who could control the ball and hit clutch shots. Both teams played tight defense and made it tough for the other one to make any progress. Kane held a slim 4-point lead with 13 seconds left in the game when DCC went up for a desperation 3-point shot and was fouled in the act. Lady Cardinal Lauresa Gulvas stepped to the line and sank the first two to pull them within a field goal. Kane would then call a timeout to try and ice the shooter, but Gulvas again went and hit the third to pull them within one point.
