Eva F. Stanley, 64, of Marienville, died Saturday evening, January 4, 2014, at her home. She was born in Barton, NY on February 19, 1949, the daughter of Elmer and Elinor Bell Gorton.
On September 20, 1996 she married Von Stanley in Kane.
Eva was employed in child care during her working years, but she and Von have enjoyed the retirement years in Marienville. She was a member of the Marienville United Methodist Church and the MACA Senior Citizens in Marienville. Her church family and her senior center family both played important roles in Eva’s life. She also enjoyed traveling, whether long trips or short ones.
In addition to her husband, Von, survivors include: a son, Robert Cooper of Mercer; three step-sons, Jonathan Stanley and his wife, Misty, of Vowinckel; Jason Stanley and his wife, Dianna, of Warren; and Jeff Stanley and his wife, Danielle, of Knox.
Eva will also be missed by four grandchildren; Michael and Jordon Cooper of Eldred; Lilly Stanley of Warren; and especially Eva’s “little buddy”, Andrew Stanley, of Vowinckel, who will miss “his” Eva.
Additional survivors include five sisters and three brothers; Elinor Hakes (Jack) of Sayre, Jenny Graham of Wisconsin, Clara Tripp of Port Crane, N.Y., Elaine Bordenet (James) of Conklin, N.Y., Rebecca Plume (John) of Key West, Fla., Charles Gorton (Carol) of Barton, N.Y., George Gorton (Mary) of Barton, N.Y., and Donald Gorton of New Castle. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Kehoe and Myna Peters and a brother-in-law, William Tripp.
A memorial service for Eva will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Marienville United Methodist Church. Rev. Daniel Richter, pastor of the church, will officiate.
Memorials in Eva’s name may be made to the Clarion/Forest VNA Hospice at 271 Perkins Rd., Clarion, PA 16214.
Arrangements are being entrusted to the Ronald McDonald Funeral Home in Marienville.
