Robert R. “Heitzie” Steudler, 83, of Water Street, Johnsonburg, died Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Lutheran Home of Kane.
He was born March 12, 1931 in Johnsonburg, son of the late William and Mabel (Anderson) Steudler.
On June 6, 1959, he married Joyce A. Kolinoski, and she survives.
He worked at the Johnsonburg Paper Mill for 36 years, retiring in 1992 and also worked for many local farms in his youth.
He was an active member of the Johnsonburg United Methodist Church, a member of Central Hose Hall, Central Drum & Bugle Corps, Armstrong Drum & Bugle Corps, and a past member of the Johnsonburg Elks and St. Joe’s Clubs.
He lived all his life in Johnsonburg.
In addition to his wife, Joyce A. (Kolinoski) Steudler of Johnsonburg, he is survived by three children, Lisa C. Spaid of Johnsonburg, Steven P. Steudler of Hamburg, and Jason A. Steudler of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren; one brother, Richard "Honey" Steudler of New Jersey; and two sisters, Jane Smith of Johnsonburg and Jackie Lyle of Maryland.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Robert R. "Robbie" Steudler; one son-in-law, Ronald Spaid; two sisters, Betty Jones and Alice Foster; and four brothers, John H., William, Bernard and Charles Steudler.
Funeral services for Robert R. “Heitzie” Steudler will be held Tuesday, March 25 at 4 p.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home with Pastor Jay Tennis officiating.
There will be no visitation. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, March 25 from 2-4 p.m. at the Ubel Funeral Home, Johnsonburg.
Interment will be in Wardvale Methodist Cemetery, Johnsonburg.
The family suggests memorials to the Lutheran Home of Kane.
