Sparked by a Byham to Vail combination with Vail on the scoring end and shooting with a dead eye, the Kane Wolves defeated Wilcox last evening here by a 55-26 score with reserves playing a large part of the contest and giving a first rate account of themselves.

A small mongrel dog died last night in a heroic struggle with a full-grown mountain lion-giving its master, Claude Mollander, Jr., time to escape into his remotely located home about six miles east of Kane.

Study Club Hears Captain Robert Carson
A delightful mid-winter meeting of the Kane Study Club was held Saturday afternoon in the Congregational church.
Captain Robert Carson was presented as a guest speaker after a tureen luncheon and gave an interesting talk on his experiences in the South Pacific.

Highland Veteran Gets Bronze Star
A Bronze Star award was presented today to Thomas E. McClain of Highland. The citation read: “For heroic achievement on 18 September 1944, in connection with military operations against the enemy in Germany.”
