Light Up Kane and the Santa Parade are ready to kick off a fun, festive holiday season Friday night.

According to Kane Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Kate Kennedy, the Light Up Kane event will start in Evergreen Park where Kane residents, Kim and Bill Cecchetti will flip the switch to light the trees throughout the park at 5 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m., the Santa Parade will begin up Fraley Street and end at S&P Pharmacy to watch the lighting of the large community Christmas tree at the end parade route at about 6 p.m.

Kane resident, Judy Williamson Spencer donated the lights for the Christmas tree adding even more lights to this year’s community tree.

After the lighting of the tree, a professional fireworks display will end the event. K.A.R.E. (Kane Area Revitalization Enterprise) is sponsoring the fireworks display.
