Since the merge of Johnsonburg and Ridgway, the once fierce rivals have found a new one in tonight's foe - Kane – winners of five of the eight meetings since the Rams joined the Elkers in 2013. The teams both won their openers last week.

RIDGWAY – Senior Natalia Chittester’s 44 led the way for the Kane golf team in their 31.5 to 20.5 season opening win over the Lady Elkers at Laural Mill on Friday afternoon.  

The Big 30 Charities Classic is being played Saturday, Aug. 7, at Parkway Field in Bradford. The Pennsylvania squad will be led by Elkers head coach Mark Heindl and Ridgway assistants Rick Viglioni, Mickey Delhunty, Jack Kifer, and Tony Defilippi.

Post 467 defeated Meadville 12-5  Saturday evening in their opening game of the Region 8 American Legion Baseball Tournament. The game started on Friday but was suspended with Wilcox leading 4-0 and coming up in the top of the fifth.

JOHNSONBURG – The Pennsylvania boys sloshed through the rain Sunday at Memorial Field in preparation for the 2021 NY/PA Corporate Cup Soccer Showcase at Olean's Bradner Stadium on Sunday, July 25. The Keystone all-stars are seeking a second straight win after losses in the first three matches.

BROCKWAY - The North built a 12-0 lead in the second quarter, but the South responded with two touchdowns in a span of 2:34 near the end of the third quarter to go ahead 14-12 in the 6th Annual Frank Varischetti Football All-Star Game at Varischetti Field.

The Kane 4X400-meter relay team finished fourth at the PIAA Class AA Championships at Shippensburg University Friday. Team members include Zuke Smith, who placed fourth in the long jump, junior Josh Greville, who finished tied for fifth in the pole vault, senior Josh Buhl, and junior Jack Bell.

MT. JEWETT - The Kane baseball team snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over DuBois Central Catholic on Thursday. The win improved the Wolves to 10-5.

The 7-4 Kane softball team hosts Johnsonburg today at Szymanski Fields (4:15 p.m.). The Lady Wolves won their last game 22-4 on May 6 at Sheffield. The 6-7 Ramettes beat Brockway 10-0 at home on Monday and have won two straight.

The Kane baseball team will look to snap a two-game losing streak today in Johnsonburg when they take on the 13-0 Rams. The Wolves dropped to 9-3 with a 5-1 loss at Elk County Catholic on Monday.
